Elizabeth McDade with the Coalition to Prevent Lead Poisoning says the law allows individuals to find out whether there are lead hazards in their homes, and charges landlords with the responsibility of fixing the hazards.

September 19, 2016 - It's been 10 years since the City of Rochester adopted the lead paint abatement law, which is one of the strictest in the country. Over 141,000 units have been inspected for lead paint hazards in the past decade. As a result, Rochester has seen an 80 percent reduction rate in the number of reports of lead poisoning in children.
