“I’ll Be There.” - Edgar Santa Cruz
Like so many, who have heard the news of Edgar Santa Cruz’s passing, we too are heartbroken. Edgar was an active member of the Latino Health Coalition convened here at Common Ground Health. While he was a man of few words, his actions spoke loudly. He could often be found at community events, sharing information on behalf of the health coalitions. When Edgar wasn’t volunteering at events, he was busy developing joint initiatives that created synergy for the many organizations to which he dedicated his time and talent.
“In life, we meet people that inspire us to be our best. Edgar was one of those individuals. He was an angel on earth that we had the opportunity to entertain unknowingly. He served the poor and disenfranchised members of our community daily. His humility was beyond measure. I can’t recall any encounter with Edgar in which I did not walk away feeling more dignified.
On behalf of the Latino Health Coalition, our condolences go out to Edgar Santa Cruz’s family and friends. He will always be remembered fondly for the inspiration that he was to us. Let’s all strive to keep his legacy of kindness alive.” – Rudy Rivera, Chair of the Latino Health Coalition
"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of one of our own coalition members. Edgar Santa Cruz was a great person, community advocate and truly a warm, kindhearted person. He fought tirelessly for those in our community who needed it the most and always lit up the room with his warm and infectious smile. Edgar will be missed, not only by our coalition, but by the community he so faithfully served. We extend our sincere condolences to his friends, family and colleagues." – Julio Jordan, Vice Chair of the Latino Health Coalition
