Alzheimer's Dementia among Older Adults

This chart displays the percent of older adults who have Alzheimer's Dementia within the United States. While Alzheimer's Dementia impacts an estimated 5% of individuals aged 65-74, the prevalence is much higher for the 75+ population. The percentage is nearly triple for those aged 75-84 (13%), and one-third of adults aged 85+ have Alzheimer’s Dementia. With the older adult population expected to grow within the region over the next couple of decades, workforce and services will be needed to assist this population. This data visualization is part of the Sage II Commission Report.
