Health Indicators by Housing Status

There is a strong relationship between housing status and a wide range of health indicators. As summarized below, survey data shows that renters are much more likely than home owners to report poor or fair health, to go without needed medical care, to use the ED, and to have unhealthy eating habits. And the data for those who are living in temporary housing or are homeless highlight a particularly stark pattern of larger health issues.
