Student Proficiency Rates: 3rd Grade English Language Arts (ELA) and Math by Economic Status
New York Finger Lakes Region
The data below are based on New York State standardized assessment scores. Proficiency rates are based on the percentage of third-grade students who scored at levels 3 or 4 on English Language Arts (ELA) and math assessments conducted within the Finger Lakes region.
There are large disparities in proficiency rates by student economic status. The state identifies students as economically disadvantaged based on the student’s (or their family’s) participation in economic assistance programs. The proficiency rates of students that are not economically disadvantaged are more than twice the rates of economically disadvantaged students.
