Anika Griffiths provides project management support and coordinates convenings and coalition meetings. Other responsibilities include executing special projects and building relationships with partners and stakeholders.
Griffiths previously served as a research assistant in the Rochester Institute of Technology Department of Student Affairs. As an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer and urban fellow at the University of Rochester, Griffiths leveraged partnerships with the local Red Cross, the medical community, nonprofit organizations and Black-owned businesses to coordinate an honorary blood drive for the Rochester Prep Charter Schools. She also gathered information from doctors and nurses to determine proper health resources.
As an intern with the City of Rochester’s Commission on Racial and Structural Equity, she examined systemic and institutional racial inequities by attending community listening sessions and by analyzing statistical reports.
Griffiths earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology from RIT. As a women’s senator in RIT student government, Griffiths worked to empower women and raise awareness of diversity and gender-related issues.
Griffiths’ hobbies include performing spoken word poetry, tennis, playing piano and watching movies.
