Life Expectancy by Socioeconomic Status (SES) in the Finger Lakes Region (2021)
Finger Lakes Region
Life Expectancy is significantly longer in areas of higher socioeconomic status. Residents of the ZIP codes with the highest SES in the Finger Lakes region can expect to live 10 years longer than people living in ZIP codes with the lowest SES. Along with this, the disparity in life expectancy is not linear between groups. SES1 (lowest SES) has the widest gap between the next group (4 years). As SES continues to increase, the gap is similar between each group, with a life expectancy about 2 years greater.
