Physical Activity by Income

Finger Lakes and Western New York Region (2021)

This chart uses Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) survey data to estimate the percentage of adults engaging in any leisure time physical activity in the past 30 days. There is a clear relationship between physical activity and income levels. Those reporting lower income levels were the least likely to report physical activity, and every increase in income level demonstrates an increase in the proportion of respondents reporting leisure time exercise.
