March 2021 Work Force Newsletter
Health CareWorkforce UpdatesMarch 2021Health care workforce survey update Preliminary analysis from our health care workforce survey conducted in late 2020 has revealed critical training needs including cultural responsiveness, relationship building and addressing social determinants of health. A full report of the survey findings will be available later this year. We will use the survey data to inform the training and professional development opportunities shared in this newsletter. Employees' basic needs, including child care, were identified as an emerging area of focus in the survey. With the passage of the American Rescue Plan, we encourage employers to educate their staff on benefits such as the expanded child care tax credit. An online calculator is available from Kiplinger to help people learn about their expected benefits. New York State paid COVID vaccine leave On March 12 Governor Cuomo signed new legislation requiring New York employers to provide employees with paid time off to receive the COVID-19 vaccination.
