November 2019Finger Lakes Works Announces "SkillUp® Finger Lakes" Finger Lakes Works is now offering the “SkillUp® Finger Lakes” program to local residents and employers in Ontario, Seneca, Wayne and Yates Counties. SkillUp Finger Lakes is an online portal with free access to over 5,000 courses from Skillsoft, a nationally recognized training provider of workplace, business, technical and IT courses. Available topics include Microsoft Office, Effective Customer Service, Project Management, Leadership, Critical Thinking, CompTIA, and many more. Local businesses can use SkillUp Finger Lakes for new hire training. Custom curricula can be developed for particular employers or industries. Upcoming Event: Trauma Informed Care: Foundations and Implementation in Long Term Care URMC's Finger Lakes Geriatric Education Center is hosting a training directly addressing the Final Rule implementation of trauma informed care in long term care settings. The training will take place from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Nov. 22 at Monroe Community Hospital. Continuing education credits are available for physicians, social workers and nursing home administrators.
